RIP

I have just received an email from George’s brother Jimmy asking to put George’s name down which got me thinking of George and the time I spent with him in Malta. Again I was an eighteen year old sprog trying desperately to keep under the radar of everyone which I was managing quite successfully to do until George came and showed me the error of my ways.

Under his guidance within a few weeks I was burning the proverbial candle at both ends and George was trying to light the middle. I don’t know where he got the energy from but he put me to shame and if he was alive today I can’t imagine that there would be very little that would have changed with him.

It was only since Jimmy reminded me of George that I realised how a small number of people had an influence in my future years and George was one of them.

May you Rest in Peace George from your Maltese mate Bernie.
